Chassis

Chassis Definition:

A chassis is a uniquely designed trailer framework or undercarriage used to support and haul containers of various capacities, sizes, and types.

Chassis are developed to carry and withstand intermodal containers of varying dimensions, including 20-foot or 40-foot models commonly found in maritime transportation and others. The chassis framework makes moving containers on trailers, trains, and ships easy. The structural setup allows the use of twist-lock mechanisms on the container corners. These ensure safety by locking the container onto the chassis. Container Transport's experts know container chassis are crucial because their standardized design allows compatibility with various handling machines.
